Kara conducted a two-day training workshop in Turkana County, on digital rights and protection of civic space for the realization of SDGs in Kenya. The goal of the workshop was to strengthen the capacity of local CSOs, Resident Associations and Human Rights Defenders in advocating for policies, practices and frameworks that advance the protection and enhancement of the civic space in the digital era.
The training is part of the project being implemented by Kara with support from UNDP Amkeni Wa Kenya programme on protection of civic space in the digital era through research, advocacy, capacity development and civic education in the counties of Kilifi, Kwale, Kitui & Turkana for the realization of SDGs in Kenya. The overall objective of the Project is to provide an enabling environment for increased opportunities for digital space protection.
