KARA signs MoU with Bingwa Services on access to reliable home services & employment opportunities for youth

In a significant move to improve access to secure and reliable home services, the Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bingwa Services that also aims to create substantial employment opportunities for youths across Kenya.

The Bingwa.ke platform is designed to offer convenience and security, featuring digital traceability of service providers. This ensures that residents can access reliable and vetted services, enhancing the overall safety and satisfaction of homeowners. Qualified service providers who are members of KARA will also benefit from this partnership. The platform offers dignified and fulfilling work opportunities, providing young, skilled, reliable, vetted, and certified Kenyans with employment. This initiative not only supports the local economy but also ensures that residents receive top-notch services from trusted professionals.

KARA’s roles in the partnership include promoting the Bingwa platform within registered resident associations, acting as a liaison between associations and Bingwa Services, and facilitating the integration of the platform into existing communication channels. KARA will also collaborate on targeted marketing plans to encourage adoption among residents seeking home services.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, KARA CEO, Henry Ochieng underscored the practical benefits of the platform for residents and service providers.

“The Bingwa platform addresses concerns of convenience, reliability, efficiency, and security when dealing with blue-collar services. Residents will have easy access to a wide pool of skilled, certified, and vetted home service technicians, while young skilled individuals in our communities will find job opportunities.” Ochieng stated.

Njihia Njoroge, Founder and CEO of Bingwa Services, emphasized the broader vision behind the partnership. “Our collaboration with KARA is not just about connecting service providers with residents. It’s about transforming Kenya’s economic and social landscape by harnessing the potential of our skilled Generation Z youth. We are acting to restore and reconcile, bringing an end to the pain of our youth and missed opportunities through this partnership.” Njoroge stated.

The MoU signing marks the culmination of months of collaborative efforts and pilot activation exercises across Nairobi. Both parties expressed optimism about the positive impact this initiative will have on the economy and the community.
