The Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA) has organized the 5th Annual Resident Associations Excellence Awards (ARAEA) to identify, reward and celebrate Resident Associations that have demonstrated exemplary performance in promoting access to better services and championing the interests of their members.
The awards are informed by the fact that Resident Associations play a very vital role in enhancing access to public services and improving quality of life in Kenya yet these efforts are rarely recognized and appreciated. Additionally, the awards serve to show case the work of Resident Associations and focus public attention on the importance of Resident Associations in promoting structured engagement with the government and other service delivery players as well as serving the interests of their members.
KARA has received several entries from Resident Associations across Kenya and an independent panel of judges is reviewing the entries to decide on the winners for the various categories. Preparations for the gala dinner event to award the winners are on course.
