As the month came to a close, KARA joined partners, the Nairobi Rivers Commission, for a river walkabout from Naivasha Road to Makini School, in support of the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Project. The walk aimed to assess the river, identify areas of encroachment, and explore opportunities for infrastructure improvements and landscaping.
Along the route, participants observed raw sewage flowing into the river at Kirichwa Kubwa, highlighting the urgent need for intervention and coordinated action.
This initiative is a testament to KARA’s continued commitment to community engagement. In partnership with the Nairobi Rivers Commission, the Nairobi City County Government, and the State Department of Housing & Urban Development, we are dedicated to restoring Nairobi’s rivers for a healthier and safer city.
