The validation of Nairobi County’s draft Policy on Community Development is well underway, with sub-county forums providing residents a platform to engage and share their views.
So far, 12 sessions have been held across Nairobi sub-counties, including Kamukunji, Westlands, Dagoretti North, Dagoretti South, Embakasi South, Embakasi North, Embakasi Central, Embakasi East, Embakasi West, Starehe, Mathare, Ruaraka, Kasarani, and Lang’ata, with support from the Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF).
Highlights of the draft policy, presented by the Nairobi City County Government team, emphasize strengthening inclusive, participatory, and sustainable community development across the city.
This initiative marks an important step toward empowering residents and communities, ensuring that Nairobi’s development agenda is shaped by their voices.
