The Zone-Wide community engagement forum on the Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Project (NRRP) was recently hosted by KARA. It brought together residents from Zones 2 & 3 (Naivasha Rd – Covent Rd, Westlands) as well as key stakeholders, commissioners, and project leads to discuss progress and community priorities for regenerating Nairobi’s rivers.
The forum was led by NRRP project leaders Brig. (Rtd) J. Muracia (Nairobi Rivers Commission CEO), Lt. Col. Njoroge Kahigu, and Commissioner Mumo Musuva. Discussions focused on project updates, community safety, demolitions, resettlement, environmental protection, infrastructure, and coordination. An interactive Q&A session allowed residents to engage directly with NRC Commissioners and the NRRP team.
This engagement reflects KARA’s ongoing commitment to supporting NRRP implementation through active community involvement. Our thanks go to all residents, partners, and stakeholders, including the State Department of Housing and Urban Development, Nairobi City County Government, and the county governments of Machakos, Kiambu, Makueni, and Kajiado.
