A delegation from Kara led by the Chairman, Mr. Richard Nyaga paid a courtesy call to Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber K. Ottichilo to discuss about effective mechanisms for engagement with the County Government on service delivery issues, and collaboration in enhancing access to better services.

The Governor stated that his Government recognizes the critical role organized community groups such as Resident Associations play on service delivery agenda, and is keen to strengthen collaboration with Kara for better service delivery for the residents.

“Residents through their respective Resident Associations should take a keen interest on matters affecting the County and work closely with the County Government in finding solutions to service delivery challenges” he said. He pointed out that the County has realized great milestones despite various challenges but there is still more work to be done.

Kara CEO, Mr. Henry Ochieng welcomed the move by the County Government to collaborate with Kara in enhancing service delivery in the County. He highlighted specific service delivery areas where Kara and the County Government can collaborate as far as service delivery issues are concerned. He also applauded the Governor for the service delivery achievements realized so far. He stated that Kara was keen to ensure access to better services by residents and will work with the County Government towards effective attainment of this goal. “Effective service delivery requires structured engagement among various stakeholders and we appreciate the Governor for embracing partnership with Kara in carrying out its mandate. We look forward to working with the County government in finding sustainable solutions to service delivery challenges facing residents of Vihiga County” He said.
