The County Government of Uasin Gishu has rolled out a headcount exercise for all tenants and inspection of approximately 1,200 houses in the region.

According to Lands and Housing Chief Officer Ruth Chelashaw, the exercise will help the County confirm occupants of the houses, assess their condition to be able to advise on plans regarding budgeting for the renovation of the houses. ‘’We aim to assess the condition of the houses; it has been long since the houses were maintained. The Municipality of Eldoret built most of the houses a long time ago,” said Ms. Chelashaw. She added that the houses being targeted are those in Mayabi, Kidiwa, Kamanda, Tom Mboya, Kuria, Transit, Saint Marys, Garden, Uhuru, Kilimani, Kodhek, Pioneer and Kapsoya estates.
