Kara and Safaricom have renewed their partnership to enhance use of new technologies to address the service delivery challenges both at the neighborhood and national level.

The two organizations have for the past three years partnered in carrying out several activities agreed upon under a Memorandum of Understanding that provided a framework of engagement on areas of mutual interest. The renewal of the partnership will see Kara and Safaricom partner on initiatives such as promoting awareness on diverse issues such as health and environment; up scaling use of technology in mitigating service delivery challenges within neighborhoods and nationally; leveraging on technology to enhance access to internet in homes among other initiatives.

Speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to renew the partnership, Safaricom Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Steve Chege, stated that the telecommunication company was grateful to have previously worked with Kara in enhancing service delivery in various neighbourhoods and the company is keen to upscale the initiatives and contribute towards sustainable developments across the country.  
“Our business continues to contribute towards improving the quality of life for Kenyans. Through our operations, we are creating sustainable livelihoods, and delivering a wide range of products, services and initiatives that support businesses and communities.” said Mr. Chege.
KARA CEO, Mr. Henry Ochieng’ said that the Association was delighted to partner with Safaricom to create positive impact on the lives of Kenyans. He noted that the two organizations have previously jointly undertaken several activities that have positively impacted on communities and the renewal of the partnership provides an opportunity to upscale such initiatives.  
“Our renewed partnership with Safaricom is a demonstration of the commitment both Parties have towards finding innovative solutions to address emerging challenges at the neighborhood and national level. We look forward to a productive engagement and providing sustainable solutions to our members and the wider public” said Mr. Ochieng.
The three year MoU will see Kara and Safaricom organize joint activities aimed at realizing the objectives of the partnership.
