Kara participated in the Transforming Transportation 2019 conference held at the World Bank headquarters in Washington DC where the delegates were unanimous that the solution to sustainable transport

lies in embracing new mobility approaches. The conference focused on how new technologies, data platforms and business models are integrating with current transport modes to solve old problems, from efficiency and equity to safety, and how new mobility can help address climate change. Delegates also discussed the current and future challenges faced by countries across the world in providing sustainable mobility for everyone.

Transforming Transportation is an annual conference co-hosted by the World Bank and WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities in Washington, DC. This year’s theme was “Will New Mobility Deliver Sustainable Transport For All?” Speaking after attending the conference, Kara CEO Mr. Henry Ochieng said: “The conference is a real eye opener on how various countries have been able to address their transportation challenges using new technologies. As we endeavour towards inclusive and sustainable transport in Kenya, we must consider embracing new technologies and learning from counties that have made great strides in this regard”
